Private appointmentsAbout Cataract surgery
What is it and when is it done?
Cataract surgery replaces the clouded lens with an artificial one, as a day case under drop anaesthesia. Privately a premium lens (multifocal, toric) can be chosen.
How long does it take?
Procedure 15–20 minutes per eye; 2–3 hours at the clinic.
How do I prepare?
Pre-operative exam with lens measurement. Bring someone for the way home.
What happens afterwards?
Vision clears in a few days. Drops for 3–4 weeks. Second eye usually after 2–4 weeks.
General information, not medical advice. The clinic gives the binding instructions for your appointment.
