How it works
About Prostate MRI

What is it and when is it done?

Multiparametric prostate MRI shows the prostate most precisely and detects suspicious areas. Done for raised PSA, before biopsy and for follow-up.

How long does it take?

30–40 minutes.

How do I prepare?

Light food the day before, empty bowel, fasting 4 hours. Bring PSA and creatinine results.

What happens afterwards?

Report with PI-RADS score in 2–5 working days, then a urologist.

Referral: With a referral from your family doctor this examination is free in the public system (often with a wait). Privately you pay yourself and need no referral.
