What is it and when is it done?
Laser vision correction (LASIK, PRK, SMILE) permanently corrects short-sightedness, long-sightedness and astigmatism. It starts with a thorough suitability exam; the procedure itself takes about 10 minutes per eye.
How long does it take?
Suitability exam 1–2 hours; procedure 20–30 minutes.
How do I prepare?
No soft lenses for 1–2 weeks, hard lenses 3–4 weeks before the exam. Stable prescription for at least a year.
What happens afterwards?
Vision recovers in 1–7 days. Drops for a few weeks, check-ups at 1 day, 1 week, 1 month.
