What is it and when is it done?
The surgical consultation assesses whether surgery is needed: hernias, gallstones, haemorrhoids, skin lumps (lipomas, cysts), wounds. Many procedures are done as day cases under local anaesthesia.

Bring ultrasound and reports. Report blood thinners.
What happens afterwards?
Opinion and surgery date immediately, with cost estimate.
Referral: No referral is needed for a private appointment. In the public system you need a referral from your family doctor.
