What is it and when is it done?
Head CT is the quick test for bleeding, stroke, head injury and larger changes. For subtle changes MRI is more precise.
How long does it take?
5–10 minutes.
How do I prepare?
No preparation without contrast. With contrast fasting 4 hours and creatinine test. Remove glasses, earrings and hairpins.
What happens afterwards?
Report often the same day or in 1–2 working days. Then a neurologist.
